Handcrafted Jewelry at affordable prices
We are two sisters who have had countless handcrafting projects throughout our
adulthood, ranging from needle work to wood work and now into rock works. We have had an interest in rock hounding and collecting, but our rocks were collection and conversation pieces for us. Then we attended a Rock and Mineral show! This show changed things for us, it set a rock slide in motion for us!
We have both semi retired from our day time job...being 2 partners in a 3 way partnership in the food industry, we now have time to spend with our rocks. So our jewelry will keep us occupied for some time to come. We participate in crafting shows along with our e-store. We will post our up coming shows on our events page.

Meet Us
This is Diane!
She seems to be enjoying what she is doing! :-)
She is putting cabochons into findings.
This is me, my name is Jeannine.
I am at the slab saw cutting rocks into slabs in preparation for cabbing. There are a few steps yet until the rock
is ready for cabbing!
Here is our niffty backdrop information
board that Diane put together for us to
use at our craft showings.
After the rock is slabbed we use templates to mark the rock with the shape and size that we will make our cab into. We use a thin line permanent marker to do this.
The marked slab is then taken over to the trim saw and the marked shape is cut out of the slab as close to the lines as we can get. The neater the trim the easier it will be on your grinding wheels.
Then because the trim saw blade is oil cooled, the rock shape has to be washed throughly. We use dish soap and water or a solution of Simple Green and water. We need to remove all of the oil for our next step, which is dopping the rock.
Dopping your rock to begin the cabbing process. We use a medium called dop wax which is melted in an electric dop pot. We put the rock onto the dop pot to heat it up. When the wax is melted we pick up some wax on a wood dowel and stick the rock shape onto the stick. The rock has to cool before we start the grinding process.
